Free read ¼ Woods Wolf Girl 107 Nd wolves are vivid and real while Red herself is anything but a one dimensional girl child A meditation on innocence and its loss. This was an unusual read for me as I don t read a lot of poetry which goes for most people I suppose What makes it even unusual is that I m distantly related to the author which is how I came to know of this volumeWoods Wolf Girl is a short read that probably reuires another go as I don t think I got everything out of it that I could in that first read through I don t believe it s possible to get everything that s in there due to the nature of poetry but it definitely warrants another go aroundThough in part a reworking and a sort of bizarre seuel to Little Red Riding Hood there is an interview with Red about how she got out of the wolf s stomach this volume deals explicitly with issues of sexuality and the public perception of it with some very powerful imagery and lasting language that makes me want to read it againI ll be looking up of her work that s for sure
