I ve wanted to read this series since I heard him speak at WisRWA and NJ RWA conferences My favorite writing teacher Bob Mayer s alter ego Nothing like NOT starting a series at the beginning though He does enough backstory that you re not lost Masterful job of blending the THEN and NOW chapters I never got lost I did get a little lost in the technical scientific aspects of the plot but not enough to NOT be able to follow the story The only thing I missed was deeper character development I m used to less character plot in this genre but I wish just once someone would break the mold Still an enjoyable read My Guinea Pig (My Pet Series) rise aga.
